How do LilyPadz work?

LilyPadz apply a gentle pressure on the nipple to stop breastmilk leakage, when properly applied. Nursing moms have used their fingers for years to apply this pressure to the breast during letdown -- LilyPadz utilizes this principle... hands free!

How do LilyPadz stay in place?

LilyPadz have a very unique and tacky lining. They do not rely on adhesives, so they are continuously sable -- just lift them off to feed your child, and reapply them when you are finished. To restore tackiness wash the pads with water and a mild soap -- they will air-dry in minutes.

What are LilyPadz made of?

LilyPadz are made of a pure silicone, a porous material that 'breathes'.  They are non-toxic, and non-allergenic. This is the same material used to manufacture bottle nipples.

Are LilyPadz safe?

Yes. LiliPadz will not increase the incidence of mastitis or other complications associated with nursing.

Will LilyPadz affect my milk supply?

No, milk production works on the principles of 'supply and demand' -- the more your child nurses, the more milk your body will produce. As long as you are feeding or expressing milk regularly, this balance will not be affected by the use of LilyPadz.

How long will LilyPadz last?

With proper use and care, a single pair should last for over six months.

LilyPadz nursing pads are easy to use. Simply place the LilyPadz over your nipple with the self-adhesive side toward your skin. Press the center of the LilyPadz onto the nipple and smooth out over your breast. Just lift off the LilyPadz to nurse your baby and then re-apply after feeding.

Unlike other nursing pads, LilyPadz can be rinsed and reused over and over. We recommend that you wash your pads at least once a day, or whenever they become soiled. Just wash with mild soap and water, rinse, and air-dry before re-applying. Since LilyPadz dry almost instantly, you have no downtime in the laundry like other reusable nursing pads. You can even sterilize your LilyPadz. Just place in boiling water for 3 - 5 minutes. With proper use and care, your LilyPadz should last for months.
